Data Sources

Curvita gathers information from a variety of sources, both internal to your campus and from external repositories. These integrations can work in both directions: Changes made in a data source are automatically imported into Curvita, and changes made in Curvita are automatically exported to the data source.

Campus Systems

Curvita can integrate with nearly any system that you may have in place, such as:

SYSTEM TYPE SUPPORTED SYSTEMS
Central Authentication Shibboleth, LDAP
Human Resources and Payroll PeopleSoft, SAP
Identity Management Active Directory, VIVO
Course Management Custom Registrar Systems
Research/Grant Management Coeus, RAMSeS

Off-site Repositories

Curvita draws data into your database from major publication repositories such as PubMed, Scopus, and ISI. This ensures that your faculty's publication listings are always accurate and up-to-date, with error-free citations.

Import from Personal Applications or Files

During installation and on a regular basis, Curvita can bring in profile data from Microsoft Excel workbooks, and can import information like publications from applications such as Thomson Reuters EndNote.

Curvita Web-based Interface

Profile information can be input and modified through Curvita's web-based interface from any web-enabled computer, giving users immediate access to their information and making it extremely convenient to update their profiles.

Delegation

Curvita includes the ability to assign profile editing privileges to other users. Faculty can authorize their staff members to make profile changes, and can choose whether or not changes made by others require personal approval before going live. Administrators can also be set up for any organizational unit, from individual departments to your entire institution.
